Rose embedded in Resin Pendant.

I think this pendant is screaming "Don't hate me because I have bubbles"... BUT I simple love it. Bubbles and all. I feel that because I am embedding nature so why not have natural formed bubbles from the resin.

Bottle Shape Resin with fern pendant.

Last weekend, I tried a new batch of resins and this time, I mixed it longer and YES, it was a success this time. I always love organic shapes and below is an inspiration for my latest experiment.

I found this lovely piece from http://www.flickr.com/photos/lesliekeating/361936558/in/set-72157594301337072/http://www.flickr.com/photos/lesliekeating/361936558/in/set-72157594301337072/.  Isn't this beautiful. Leslie Keating makes wonderful resin jewelry and also beautiful patterns for fabrics.

3rd Resin Pendant experiment.

This time around, I experimented with a different shape molded from a lipstick cover. As I used a silicone mold, I could not see what I stuff in. So with a rushed 'adrenalin', I just stuffed the wild leaves in it without knowing that it was actually upside down...:(

Anyway, I will be trying with other things to embed in the resin.

2nd Resin Pendant experiment.

This time, I decided to mold a 1 inch glass marble. The mold was a success but the embedded wild leaves wasn't.

I will explore more and hopefully I can perfect the way flowers/leaves are embedded. Perhaps laying them layer by layer.

The other thing is the bail to hold the pendant (I wanted my pendant to be at least 80% fully handmade), so I have been experimenting with different methods. This was held up by using a bracelet connector/links.

Wild Leaves in Resin pendant.

This is my first time making a pendant using Resins. The shape of this pendant was molded from a fridge light bulb by using silicone rubber. After much anticipation, I successfully made a mold.

Last week, I was bold enough to mix a small batch of resins. The only downside of the result is, the wild leaves ended floating up.

Guess it will be more experiments with this medium. End of the day, I love how unexpectedly the pendant turned out to be.
